Team Merakii

Team Merakii was founded by me in 2019, with the aim to be a catalyst for positive change in our community. Through innovative projects and impactful initiatives, our team strives to make a lasting difference in the lives of those around us.

‘Merakii’s Book Fair’: Fundraiser

In our first venture, we organized a captivating book fair that went beyond merely selling second-hand books. This event was a celebration of literature, community, and philanthropy, generating a commendable $4,230. The proceeds were directed towards impactful community-oriented projects, including feeding strays and undertaking street revamping initiatives. In addition to these initiatives, we also hosted a New Year’s party for disabled kids using the funds we had gathered. Our inclusive celebration featured a vibrant array of activities including games, delicious food, and heartwarming singing and dancing performances. The objective was to create an atmosphere of joy and inclusivity, ensuring that these special kids felt cherished and valued. As a final touch, we distributed meaningful gifts to these kids.

‘Cycle of Love’: Menstrual Health Importance

In our unwavering commitment to addressing the crucial issue of menstrual health, Team Merakii launched the impactful initiative, 'Cycle of Love.' Recognizing the multifaceted challenges faced by women in our community, we sought to go beyond providing a basic necessity and embarked on a journey to foster awareness and empowerment.

‘Thread Treasures’: Thrift Shop

In our commitment to empowering women, we pioneered the establishment of "Thread Treasures," a thrift shop in Bhavnagar. This unique initiative not only supports 16 women in the workforce at our school but also champions sustainability through the promotion of thrift shopping. It's a small step towards fostering economic independence and environmental responsibility.

‘Merakii's Fiesta’: Fundraiser

Our flagship event, ‘Merakii's Fiesta,’ was a testament to our creativity and commitment. This highly successful fundraiser, themed "Donate to the noble cause in a fun way," raised a remarkable $11,000. The event featured engaging activities such as art showcases, talent displays, a book fair, games, and more, creating an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere. With the funds raised through ‘Merakii's Fiesta,’ we were able to establish a secure cow stable for up to 23 cows. This project directly addressed safety concerns for stranded cows on the streets, reflecting our dedication to both human and animal welfare.
